Expert in trade and export development

Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine is opening a competition for the position of EXPERT in trade and export development for the «TIPSTER program: trade, intellectual property support and technical regulation».

The TIPSTER project is implemented by the NGO «Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine» with the financial support of the German government within the framework of the international cooperation project ReACT4UA («Application and implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade»), the executor of which is the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project is aimed at increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, especially given the accession to the EU.

Your duties as an expert will include:

1. To support trade agreements, export development, and EU economic partnership. 

2. Elaboration of recommendations on economic policy for increasing the volume and improving the structure of Ukraine’s exports of goods. 

Identification of:  

  • dynamically growing markets based on the study of the dynamics of imports of goods (by country/region and product, 10-year period analysis); 

  • product groups for export to growing markets that are already produced in Ukraine and which production can be increased; 

  • product groups for export to growing markets that require the new facilities’ construction (based on the criteria of the availability of growing markets, raw materials, speed of construction, etc.).

3. Description of the new potential structure of Ukraine’s exports of goods and its impact on the price and volume of export revenues.

4. Elaborating proposals for the development of export-oriented investments in Ukraine based on the best international practices and sectoral prioritization;  

5. Update of the tasks suggested to be included in the National Recovery Plan aiming to increase the export supply of Ukraine.

6. Preparing promo materials on selected priority industries (will be defined by MoE):  

  • Booklet on the exhibitions and fair activities in Ukraine;  

  • Booklet on the exhibitions and fair activities abroad;  

  • FTA booklet update

7. Preparing the export portfolio for selected sectors promising for export, including according to Agreements on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Goods (ACAA), including but not limited to radio equipment; eco-design of equipment; medical devices. 

8. To provide other services that are not directly defined in these Terms of Reference but might be required for the successful implementation of the project.

Requirements:

  • Documented experience and professional experience in the trade and export development field of 5 years or more.

  • High level of analytical and communication skills.

  • Experience in EU-funded or similar projects would be an advantage.
