A vibrant small and medium-sized enterprise sector is a vital success factor for a sustainable economic growth. As the majority of SMEs in Ukraine produce mainly for domestic markets, it is important to create business opportunities for high performing, internationally competitive SMEs to expand to new markets. The project “Ukraine: Consolidation of SME export potential and facilitation of access to foreign markets” will be implemented in 2018-2019 in line with activities of Export Promotion Office.
Scope of work and tasks
The «Gо Сhina» Program Manager will be responsible for:
- Coordination of timely and accurate market research regarding the targeted sectors with a further deep subsectors analysis and market mapping secured and provided for the purposes of preparation of 2018 China International Import Expo;
- Preparation and organizing of the Export Talks or other respective educational event (events) based on the results of analytical market research (including, but not limited to program development, proper level of expert speakers securing, participants invitation and registration etc.) for the purposes of awareness raising regarding of the «Go China» Program, 2018 China International Import Expo and promotion of opportunities for Ukrainian businesses in China;
- Preparation and tender holding among creative and design agencies for the development of relevant concept and design of the national stand (including specific market segment adaptations);
- Cooperation with the associations, business organizations and clubs, clusters and other stakeholders at all stages of the project to ensure their role and involvement in the project;
- Accurate complex organizing of 2018 China International Import Expo national stand (including specific market segment adaptations);
- Coordination and assistance in organizing of business visit within the framework of 2018 China International Import Expo;
- Coordination of the transfer of property rights to the relevant governmental body (in cooperation with the legal manager).
Deliverables
- «Gо Сhina» Program plan developed and budgeted;
- National stand design worked out;
- Creative concept for national stand developed, approved, and implemented;
- Timely and accurate market research regarding the targeted sectors prepared;
- The Export Talks or another respective educational event (events) organized based on market research results;
- 2018 China International Import Expo national stand organized and operating;
- Follow-up press event organized.
Essential experience, skills, and qualifications
Experience
- Relevant experience in various export-oriented projects in different industries or public sector, exhibitions, and trade fairs;
- At least 5 years of project management experience;
- Proven track record of coordination and events organizing.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong project management skills;
- Creativity;
- Solution-oriented thinking;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to visualize complex data;
- Outstanding ability to prioritize, coordinate and communicate at all levels with the different types of stakeholders;
- Understanding export-oriented activities and the Export Strategy of Ukraine.
Education
- Master Degree in management, international relations or other related areas;
- Fluency in oral and written Ukrainian and English;
- Proficiency in Chinese is an asset.
