The Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine is opening a competition for the vacancy of a lawyer in the field of intellectual property in the project "TIPSTER program: trade, intellectual property support, and technical regulation" to assist the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in implementing the tasks of developing the national sphere of intellectual property and harmonizing relevant legislation with the requirements of the EU (Acquis Communautaire).
The TIPSTER project is implemented by the NGO «Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine» with the financial support of the German government within the framework of the international cooperation project ReACT4UA («Application and implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade»), the executor of which is the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project aims to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, especially given the accession to the EU.
Main tasks:
· analysis of the provisions of the Acquis Communautaire in the field of intellectual property with the aim of their implementation in Ukraine;
· preparation of analytical materials on the state of Ukrainian legislation in the field of intellectual property in separate areas;
· participation in the preparation of proposals for projects of regulatory and legal documents as part of the implementation of the task of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU acts in the field of intellectual property and technology transfer;
· providing proposals regarding the legal aspects of the implementation in Ukraine of the best practices for the regulation of issues related to the protection of rights to intellectual property objects and implemented in foreign countries, as well as by international and regional specialized organizations;
· participation in the translation of legal materials as part of the development of proposals for draft legislative acts in the field of intellectual property;
· development of information and communication materials regarding the legal aspects of individual tasks implemented within the project, participation in expert discussions, and events.
Qualification requirements:
- higher legal education;
‒ experience in professional activity in the field of intellectual property for 5 years;
‒ knowledge of legislation in the field of intellectual property in Ukraine;
- experience in working out international agreements and implementing the Acquis Communautaire in the field of intellectual property;
‒ Fluency in Ukrainian, English, and German.
Experience in the preparation of projects of normative acts in the field of intellectual property in Ukraine, as well as experience in the framework of the implementation of the relevant provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU in the field of intellectual property, will be an advantage.
