Analyst in trade and export development

Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine is opening a competition for the position of ANALYST in trade and export development for the «TIPSTER program: trade, intellectual property support and technical regulation».

The TIPSTER project is implemented by the NGO «Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine» with the financial support of the German government within the framework of the international cooperation project ReACT4UA («Application and implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade»), the executor of which is the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project is aimed at increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, especially given the accession to the EU.

Your duties as an Analyst will include:

1. Providing analytical support on existing trade agreements, export development and economic partnership with the EU, including:

  • analyzing the dynamics of Ukrainian exports in 2020-2022, in particular, identifying lost export positions and the mos  t affected sectors.

  • participation in a comprehensive survey of exporters to identify the most critical problems and challenges; testing hypotheses based on the previous analysis; assessing the effectiveness of existing export support tools;

  • comprehensive analysis of the problems and challenges for Ukrainian producers and service providers in 2022 based on the data collected during the survey, and search for strategic solutions and mechanisms to support Ukrainian exporters in the critical years of 2023-2025. 

2. Analytical and organizational support in the preparation and conduct of the International Trade Council and working groups, including, but not limited to:

  • development of analytical and informational materials; 

  • assisting in the implementation of tasks based on the results of the meetings of the International Trade Council; 

  • developing proposals for updating the rules of procedure of the International Trade Council.

3. Provide other services that are not expressly specified in this Terms of Reference, but may be necessary for the successful implementation of the project.

Requirements:

  • documented experience and professional experience in the relevant field of 5 years or more;

  • high level of analytical and communication skills;

  • experience in EU-funded or similar projects would be an advantage.
