Call for the temporary position «Project coordinator»

The NGO «Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine» announces a competition for the position of Project Coordinator for the «TIPSTER: Trade, Intellectual Property Support and Technical Regulation» program (hereinafter – Project). 

The project is being implemented by the NGO «Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine» within the international cooperation project ReACT4UA (“Utilization and Implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade”), that is financed by the German Government and implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.  

The objective of the Project is to assist Ukrainian SMEs to improve their potential for exporting goods and services by elaboration of national export policy in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and other governmental and non-governmental organizations to boost Ukrainian export and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in foreign markets.

Scope of the Project 

The main activities of the Project are to promote the goods and services of Ukrainian SMEs to international markets by improving the framework conditions at the national level, as well as to directly facilitate the participation of Ukrainian enterprises in international trade shows and trade missions. According to this the Project is divided into 4 main components:

Component 1. Supporting the framework conditions for international trade at the national level in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Component 2. Support to intellectual property reform in Ukraine.

Component 3. Technical regulation and regulatory policy. 

Component 4. Support to export promotion activities.

The main tasks of the Project Coordinator include:  

  • general management of the Project, planning, organization of work within the Project, analysis, supervision and control of all areas of the Project activities to achieve the goal, objectives, indicators and other indicators of the Project
  • ensuring coordination of activities, communication and effective interaction of all Project participants for its proper implementation: The Foundation, project consultants, representatives of GIZ and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, other stakeholders
  • periodic review and update of the Project implementation schedule  
  • constant coordination and cooperation with the implementers of each of the Project activities to ensure the appropriate result by the Project implementation schedule
  • reporting on the status of the Project implementation and its results
  • coordinating the budgeting of activities under the Project, controlling the reporting on the use of funds and submitting applications for payment
  • Identification, assessment and management of risks in achieving the Project objectives and providing proposals on ways to prevent and eliminate them, ensuring the smooth implementation of the Project 
  • organizing the procurement process within the Project, providing support, monitoring the implementation of contracts 
  • coordination and control over the activities of the Project partners to fulfil the contractual agreements  
  • development of a general system of control, evaluation and monitoring of the Project implementation activities together with the Project evaluation and monitoring consultant
  • organization and holding of meetings

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine.  

Requirements to the candidates:  

  • proven track record in project management (coordination), preferably in the context of development programs or initiatives in the areas of export support, technical regulation, intellectual property, SME development;
  • proven experience of cooperation with international donor organizations, ITA projects as employees and/or involved experts;in-depth understanding of the Ukrainian business landscape, especially about exports of goods and services and the challenges of a full-scale war for Ukrainian businesses  
  • excellent leadership and management skills with a proven track record of coordinating diverse stakeholders  
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact and collaborate with government officials, project partners, and Ukrainian business representatives 
  • expertise in designing and implementing export capacity-building activities for Ukrainian producers of goods and services, including training programs and trade missions  
  • knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of the program  
  • fluency in English and professional knowledge of Ukrainian.  

Period of assignment: until 15.09.2024
