International conference ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ in Lviv

The Recovery Support Unit has contributed to the organisation of the international conference ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ in Lviv.

For the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine, the implementation of the Recovery Support Unit at the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is, first and foremost, about creating an effective tool for supporting decision-making, coordination and international cooperation in the cultural sector.

Today, we can confidently say that the Unit is a practical mechanism that helps the Ministry of Culture work on recovery in a more structured, professional and effective way. This was confirmed by the ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ conference, which brought together over 40 foreign delegations, 10 ministers of culture from European countries, representatives of UNESCO and other international partners.Participants at the ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ conference in Lviv

As a result of this work, around 100 million UAH in international support was mobilised for the culture and cultural heritage sector. Among the concrete outcomes are new contributions from the Netherlands, the UK, Luxembourg, the EU and UNESCO, the expansion of the Cultural Resilience Alliance with new members, as well as the signing of a Memorandum with Spain on cooperation in culture and recovery.

For us, this is proof that high-quality expert support within the Ministry delivers measurable results. The Unit helps coordinate international aid, strengthen institutional capacity, and build trust in Ukrainian state institutions.International Conference ‘Cooperation for Resilience’ in Lviv

We would like to thank the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, our international partners, the expert community and the entire Unit’s team, who work tirelessly every day to strengthen Ukraine’s cultural resilience.

The Recovery Support Unit at the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine was established by UNESCO Ukraine with funding from the Government of Japan. The project is implemented by the NGU “Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine.”
