The project «TIPSTER: Trade, Intellectual Property Support and Technical Regulation»

The Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine within the framework of the international cooperation project ReACT4UA is launching a subproject «TIPSTER: Trade, Intellectual Property Support and Technical Regulation».

The TIPSTER project is being implemented by the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine with financial support from the Government of Germany under the international cooperation project ReACT4UA («Application and Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in Trade»), executed by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness and resilience of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in view of EU accession.

The main goal of the project is to help Ukrainian producers and enterprises improve their potential for exporting goods and services by developing a detailed national export policy in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and other governmental and non-governmental organizations to facilitate trade and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in foreign markets.

👉🏻 The project is structured into 4 main components:

  1. Support for the framework conditions for international trade at the national level in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

  2. Support for intellectual property reform in Ukraine.

  3. Technical regulation and regulatory policy.

  4. Support for export promotion activities.

🤝🏻 During the project implementation, we will:

  • improve recommendations on export policy;

  • define strategic guidelines for industrial development policy, including the recovery period;

  • assist the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in developing the production of export goods in Ukraine and promoting exports;

  • provide advisory and expert support to public authorities and institutions responsible for harmonizing Ukraine's foreign economic policy in line with Ukraine's new status as a candidate for EU membership, as well as the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in the field of trade;

  • organize forums and information campaigns on technical regulation;

  • implement intellectual property (IP) reform and develop a strategy for IP development in Ukraine;

  • create favorable conditions for trade development;

  • assist SMEs in establishing direct B2B contacts with potential partners from the EU (through organizational support for their participation in trade missions, exhibitions and study tours).

Thus, the TIPSTER project aims to strengthen the institutional and regulatory environment in Ukraine, which will help improve the competitive environment for businesses and service providers. This will help to unlock the export potential of Ukrainian SMEs, contribute to economic recovery, growth and development of the country, job creation, as well as international and regional integration during the war.
